if your looking for love, Jesus is the answer

had a good day today.

it was Shane and Alli's commisioning service (to find out more visit www.fakerepublic.com . It was wonderful, a few tears shed as this actually feels like the end of an era! not just for them but for all the third year students! life begins now!

some of us went to the park and sat and chatted a while bout women in authority. (i'll leave that for another day!)

the conversation came to an end, when two guys came up to us. one guy said, my friend is looking for love, can we help him. my intial thought was 'no you arse, move or i'll batter you!' but being the good christian that i am said, ''no we can't but, if your looking for love, then jesus is your answer!''

soon as those words left my mouth i knew i was in for trouble, either they would go. 'erm ok see you later bye bye' or 'ok tell me more.' They went for the latter. oh poo!

so there we are God's army, trying to explain the gospel. i did not have a clue as to what i was gonna say. i started off by asking who they thought jesus was. i thought this was a good place to start. they did not really know who he was or what he was about but were certain that he was not for them. he talked about 'mother earth' and being thankful to nature.

it was a strange conversation. i tried to do more listening than talking, but was really keen to tell them everything i know! but that i began to realise was not the answer. it was strange cos we actuatlly agreed on most things but coming from different backgrounds. Theses guys believed in love, so did we, theses guys believed that having stuff in life in pointless but the things you collect over time is love inside of you the most valuable trasure ever! all true. we seemed to go round in circles.

i did not get to talk to the other guy, but the italian guy seemed really interested.

mmmm

he thought he had all the answers. he had travelled the world, seen things and participated in things and therefore knew more. i was not so sure. had enough respect for him, but he was rather arrogant and was not willing to listen to what we had to say.

mmmm

it got me thinking, as chrsitians do we think we have all the answers? is it possible to be a christian plurist?

answers on a postcard please.
