youth work

oh my life!

when your training to be a youth worker, you dont really grasp just how hard it is. My training was fantastic and i'm more than pleased that i did it (thanks to Dot and Rich)

but...

oh my life

this is for real! i wont be leaving in December, i wont need to think about an exit statergy for at least 3 years, there is no qualified youth wroker to take me through supervisions.... in fact i AM the qualified youth worker

i just cant get my head round it!

what have i done.......

ack... but you know deep down I'M LOVIN IT

hey dee dee! got ure text the other night, but had no credit, so i thought i'd be lazy and write back to you on this, hope u don't mind! Last night in CU i single handedly 'organised'- i say that in the loosest sense of the word! the small groups. God is so good, it was amazing to see all of them, I am now just a small group leader that supports and pastors the small group leaders, they are in a sense my small group. Which I am loving :)

We have Fran, Tamara, Justine, Dave, Clare, Alex, Craig(!) and Sam as small group leaders, and Sam is looking into Jenny helping her out as a co-leader team thing. The small groups range from 8-14! cos there was such an influx of freshers (again, God is so good!) and they all look so great :D you might not have been bothered with all that, but I thought you might have been slightly interested in it! Ruth and (I can't remember her name!- but used to live in my room at camb view!) came to CU yesterday, so that was fab! Andy B did the talk, but we had to be moved to northgate because of the literature festival going on, beswick was full, and they were offering us a little room that wouldn't fit us all in, especially when we needed to organise the small groups etc, so God was gracious and provided northgate this week. but we have to look into getting another venue methinks!

Scary monsters, I just had my first dissertation tutorial! It went ok though, I think I'm going to enjoy it...!

Love u lots, missing you! the house is fab, in camb theyve changed the grotty kitchen floor into a funky silver stainless steel linoleum(SP?!) look, which looks miles better!

82 garden lane is fabulous, I'm so happy there. Sorry if I was a pain in the arse last year at all, I had a bit of a tough time.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your youth work!

Bye, love u bye Maddy xxxx
